Orchids are renowned for their biodiversity, playing an important role in global ecosystems by supporting a wide range of pollinators. Collections like the Smithsonian Gardens Orchid Collection (SGOC) is a vital conservation resource protecting species from threats like habitat change and over collecting.
This project visualizes the bloom time of the 760 unique living orchids
from the Smithsonian Open Access database.
